LOCATION

Base camp for the Arkansas events is set in the heart of the Ozark National Forest amid a web of trails from improved roads to two-track, to groomed gravel roads.  Over four days, we’ll consider the cornerstones of Balance, Control, Judgment and Attitude as they apply to both adventure riding and to life.

Our venue in Jasper is based approximately 10 miles from town, at a beautiful mountainside, two-level home snuggled in the Ozark National Forest. Our venue is meant for the express purpose of Christian fellowship and to create a comfortable platform from which each day’s riding can be launched. Breakfasts and dinners are served at the cabin. Lunches are typically prepared by each guest prior to each day’s departure and carried along for a trail side picnic. Sandwich materials and snacks are provided. Single and double bunk beds are dispersed throughout the cabin and private rooms are available for couples.

You are here to stretch your limits but your safety is our primary concern. We expect you to push yourself, to expand your horizons, improve your skills and to gather experiences to talk about during each evening’s fireside gathering. To ensure the safest environment possible, due to the rugged nature of most roads in the area, a minimum skill level is expected for participants. Each day’s ride may cover from 80 to 150 miles give or take. We need your honest self-assessment to help determine if this is an event in which you can safely participate. Although challenging at times, our Arkansas venue is the perfect setting for those whose skill set may not be up to the challenging terrain that we will experience during our Colorado events.  Please refer to the self-assessment evaluation mechanism on the registration page to determine your skill level. You should at least be able to tackle Class 2 terrain with reasonable proficiency and aspire to tackle some Class 3 terrain with guidance and instruction, which we will provide as challenges are encountered.

This is an excellent opportunity to improve your ability to cover fast gravel traverses, stream crossings and rocky trails. Pace is generally moderate. Weather and trail conditions vary so be prepared to push through the occasional tough section. This event is appropriate for riders at a skill level of Intermediate or above.

Following each day’s ride, we will meet at base camp for dinner and an evening spiritual development session based upon the four cornerstones of adventure riding, Balance, Control, Judgment and Attitude.

C.A.M.P. TESTIMONIALS

When I first heard of D.A.R.T. and Rugged Peak Ministries’ Christian Adventure Motorcycle Project (“C.A.M.P.”), I knew I wanted to attend. It was a Christian group, and Bill Dragoo was a part of it who I had gotten to know by attending some of the D.A.R.T. classes. This area is some of the best motorcycle riding areas in the country. We were led by people who had ridden the area they were there to guide us and to help us with our riding. Our Fathers House is a great place to stay with a wonderful view. The food was top notch and the best part was the morning and evening Bible study, it had a lot of discussion and an opportunity to learn and to get to know others. I have attended for two years and have already signed up for another C.A.M.P.

Having participated in various spiritual retreat events, I thought I had a good idea of what DART CAMP would be, boy was I wrong. The level of spiritual growth and renewal from morning meditation, application of that days scriptures to the day’s ride culminated with a deep dive and recap in the evening was really special. Digging deep into scripture each evening, sharing between each other personal testimonies and relating that to all aspects of our lives especially riding a motorcycle was stimulating—— It made me want to be better at both—— Which I guess is the whole reason for DART CAMP—— The level of bible study and fellowship was so much higher than I anticipated. The riding level was much higher too, just enough to push you out of your comfort zone always knowing someone is there to see that you make it through. The friendships and memories created have been priceless. The entire DART CAMP staff is awesome. Food and lodging was great Thank you Melissa! Some of the most impactful four days I have spent anywhere. I Had A Blast!

This past Rugged Peak event was amazing!! Being surrounded by men and women serious about their love and relationship to Jesus set the stage for exhilarating and challenging rides in the Ozarks. The scouts did a great job giving a variety of challenging and very scenic trails so that we could work on our riding skills, every turn built camaraderie amongst us all. Every night as we reflected on our ride we were challenged to think on our balance, control, attitude, and judgement on our ride and in our hearts. The shifting shades of red, yellow and orange leaves made me shout praise to Jesus as we rode. So freeing to ride for his Glory, so challenged in tackling features that tested our skills, so encouraged to be deepening our walks with the Savior together, so ready for the next ride.
